Landscape, ecology and arboriculture can be key drivers in determining some of the opportunities and constraints for development. Smeeden Foreman undertook extensive desk top study, site survey and analysis of two sites on the edge of Boston. The aim was to produce two Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments; for an outline planning of one site and for full planning permission on the other to form a chapter in an Environmental Statement. Smeeden Foreman contributed to the team approach to this large scale project by producing a series of Landscape Strategy plans for each site to inform the masterplanning process. The proposed schemes are mixed development comprising; housing, retail and a new football stadium, much of which has now been granted planning consent.
