Preliminary ecological appraisal
Most, if not all, planning applications will require an assessment of all ecological effects. A Preliminary Ecological Appraisal provides an initial assessment of a proposed development site in terms of its habitats and potential to support protected species. This assessment goes on to inform any additional surveys which may be required. This survey can be undertaken at any time throughout the year, although timing constraints may apply for any additional survey work recommended.
Smeeden Foreman’s team of ecologists have extensive experience in carrying out such appraisals with a range of specialisms in botany and protected species surveys to ensure a robust site assessment.
